Naas General Hospital is located on a site and in buildings originally constructed as a workhouse in 1840, with various buildings subsequently added. The main aim of the development control plan is to indicate a harmoniously phased development during which the old buildings will be gradually substituted by the new, while maintaining the integrity of service during all phases of the new development.

Completed 2002 and 2003: Operating Department, Intensive Care Department, Coronary Care Department, Ward, Accident & Emergency Department, Out Patients Department, Administration Department and Radiology Department.
