The new MRI Suite and additional radiological and emergency department facilities at Regional Hospital Mullingar has been successfully completed and handed over. Commissioned by the HSE with funds for the MRI machine raised locally, this new facility will provide diagnostic imaging services for adults and children. The strong form of the 5 storey ward block is extruded on 2 stories and finished in cladded panels of a complementary colour. A single storey element is finished in red brick to match the existing hospital building. The interior has a warm bright atmosphere, with universal access for both inpatient and outpatient cohorts.
