Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly officially opened the Waterford Hospice at University Hospital Waterford on Friday 7th July. The purpose built hospice is located at ground and upper ground floors of the Dunmore Wing and has direct access to gardens. The building was completed in 2019, however these lower levels were re-purposed during Covid19 pandemic and therefore delayed the opening. Great to return 4 years later, to hear that the building is functioning well and providing a suitable environment for end of life care. The gardens are starting to mature, substantially enhancing the therapeutic environment.
