Mercy Convent Primary School is established on the site off Sallins Road, Naas since 1839. The school has grown over the years and is currently a 27 classroom school accommodated in various buildings ranging from a 1900 Building (a protected structure) to a 1974 Building of one and two storeys to a number of prefabricated freestanding single storey buildings.
The proposal development is for a full replacement of all accommodation on the site (except the 1900 Building, which is a protected structure) with a new build 3 storey building. This approach will ensure that the completed school will accommodate 32 classrooms and ancillary accommodation, 3 no. ballcourts, 2 no. junior play areas and 50 car park spaces (including 2 no. places for disabled persons) within the site.
