New Primary Care Centre in Drumcliff, Co. Sligo for HSE Estates. The objective was to design a modern fit for purpose primary healthcare facility, that would be a significant asset in regards to the delivery of healthcare in the locality of Drumcliff and the extended environs.The building type has been designed to cater for a number of stakeholders and to meet their individual specific needs. The proposed layout and arrangement of the building is a result of a significant consultation process with the users.
The proposed building is organised as a cluster of simple gable ended volumes that are joined by flat roof elements echoing vernacular forms within Drumcliff village. The architectural intention is to reinterpret the vernacular typology through material and form. The intention is for the proposed building to have a presence in the village whilst respecting the scale of the village.
