Laura is a talented designer and Project Architect with a proven ability to develop and manage complex healthcare and educational projects. Laura joined Wejchert Architects in 2019 and become an RIAI Register Architect in 2020. She was subsequently promoted to the position of Associate in 2024.

Laura graduated magna cum laude from Università degli Studi di Palermo, Italy, in 2007 with a B.Arch degree. Before joining the practice, Laura worked for 10 years as an Architect
in Italy, with 2 different architectural firms, where she developed and improved her design skills and gained professional experience in both private residential and commercial sectors.

In 2008 she became member of the Ordine degli Architetti PP. PP. CC di Palermo gaining her own professional licence, and along with her position in the architectural firms, she started her own architectural practice.

Thinking that architecture needs continuous learning, Laura kept studying to improve her knowledge including, in 2008 a Master Degree in “Planning and management for the conservation of cultural heritage: garden art and landscape design”; in 2009 a Certificate in “Lighting Design”; in 2011 a Masters Degree in “3D Graphic: Design and Visualisation”, and most recently in 2023, she successfully completed a Certificate in “Energy Efficiency Design”.

Since joining the practice, she has worked mostly on educational and healthcare projects such as the Corporate Support Services Building in SETU Carlow; a new Community Nursing Unit in St Colman’s Hospital; Higher Education Bundle 1 PPP (Bid Stage); Higher Education Bundle 2 PPP (Bid Stage) and a Primary Care Centre in Grange, Co. Sligo. She is currently involved in a number of refurbishments and new build project in Naas General Hospital, including the Acute Medical Assessment Unit refurb and new 50 Bed Acute Mental Health Unit and Multi-storey Carpark.
